## Birds and rabbits

Let's represent the number of birds per **P** and the number of rabbits per **ç**. Considering that birds have two feet and rabbits have four, we get two equations:

p + c = 16

2p + 4c = 38

Isolating **P** In the first equation we have:

p = 16 - c

Replacing **P** in the second equation:

2p + 4c = 38

2 (16c) + 4c = 38

32 - 2c + 4c = 38

2c = 6

c = 3

As we have 3 rabbits, the number of birds is:

p = 16 - 3**p = 13**
